GUILTY NY - Barbara Maier Gustern, 87, brutally shoved in street, dies, Manhattan, 12 March 2022 *arrest*

The perp is a dead ringer for a certain Danish punk-pop singer. She was performing in California that week though. It would really extraordinary if she hopped a plane back to New York in the middle of that. Or maybe she's got a sister? Definitely picking up a Northern European vibe. My first...

I think it might just be a transcription error: "an absence of school [or] work ..."

We don't know that it was just one killer. In fact I just had the craziest thought that an unrelated individual might have mutilated the body after she was killed.

I just looked at the autopsy again. I don't think the "o'clock" references have anything to do with any particular knife-fighting style. They just describe the direction of the injuries on the body. I was struck by how shallow most of the wounds were, an inch or so. But there are one or two to...

Could you be more specific? You mean military training?

Stab wounds can reveal the cross section of the knife blade, so they might be able to distinguish a chef's knife from, say, a military Ka-Bar. One of the forensic podcasts suggested perhaps a butcher's knife.

That also clarifies that her phone was not taken. The "$200 headphones" Emma Clark mentions were likely Apple Airpods, wireless earbuds.

    1) <modsnip: No link to an approved source> 2) She had to locate both bodies and may well have been dazed by the experience. Also, per EC, KJ showed up at 11:35pm but how long did she stay at the restaurant? So not necessarily a whole hour until EC goes home.

Joe Clark might not necessarily be the source of the idea that KJ was coming back to the restaurant. The journalist might have made an error or mishandled details, which happens a lot.

Just my own amateur reading of the autopsy, it seems possible Katie was immediately incapacitated by having her throat cut from behind. It's possible there wasn't much resistance, especially as she seems to have been wearing earbuds.

I don't think I can answer these without violating TOS. JMO.
