CA CA - Lancaster, WhtFem 1205UFCA , 30-50, in desert, homemade coffin, Dec'68

Initially hunters who camped in the area on 12/8/1968 spotted something that looked like the brick corner sticking out of the ground, covered with limbs and debris. It is probable that the brick color of the coffin was intended to make it less noticeable near the brick wall where it was stored...

In the mid-60's brocade pillows of different shapes and colors were used for home decorations. They were sold at the warehouse in downtown LA, 40 miles away from Pearblossom. It is likely she was murdered in the summertime. That's why the casket was sealed very carefully with glue and putty so...

The fabric was “Viyella woven in Great Britain” - a wool and cotton fabric, produced in GB. Robes made from this fabric were widely advertised and sold in the US (including stores in SF and LA in California) and Canada (British Columbia) in mid-1950-s and 1960-s. Most advertisements listed...

Thank you for the reference! Never heard about it. In Ukrainian it spells as it is written - "Rika". Still the Ukrainian connection seems like a stretch to me.

"Reka" means "river" in Russian. As far as I know there is no river with that name in Western Ukraine. The way it is written on the first page it doesn't look like Russian/Ukrainian reference to me.

    Canada - Barry, 75, & Honey Sherman, 70, found dead, Toronto, 15 Dec 2017 #8

I remember reading somewhere that once the Old Colony Rd house was listed for sale, Shermans moved to a different location where they intended to reside until their new house would be ready. I cannot find that article anymore, so no link. But if true, that may explain no change of clothes and...

It looks like the Doe Network Case File 574UMNV refers to a wrong NamUs case (NamUs UP # 7852). The correct reference should be NamUs UP # 7582 (https://identifyus.org/cases/7582)

The fannypack could be used to carry her medications close and available. My guess is that JD used to wear it on her waist, that is why the belt became worn and had to be repaired. Where did she get it from is a different question, maybe from some little girl related to her, maybe not. But if...

WA - Unidentified Male: "Lyle Stevik", Grays Harbor, 17 Sept 2001 - #4

Even if this is a match, we may never know. This discussion contains too many private details and photos, which the family of the deceased would never want to make public. Also, some people feel embarrassed and ashamed that a loved one has committed suicide. Rest In Peace, Lyle Stevick.

Who was George Brody?- Part 2.

Please accept my apologies for my English, my first language is Russian. I just wanted to add some details regarding the possible Russian origins of GB. There is a tiny town of Brody in Western Ukraine, located right on the border between the Austrian-Hungarian Empire and Russia. The city of...
