Part of the reason for this is there is no legal requirement to show a motive. Legally all that has to be shown is who did it, how they did it, and for a first degree conviction, that they thought about it and acted with the intent of killing (premeditated) before they carried it out...

Blackmail might not be exactly the correct term. She wanted a plea deal of 2nd degree murder or else she threatened she would have to destroy Travis's reputation by "revealing" his pedophilia and abusive nature. It was an obvious attempt to manipulate the justice system.

I think it was a huge mistake to tell the prosecutor he needs a time out. Juan can bring charges, he's not just some court appointed attorney, so he's not the one you want to piss off.
