They mention he dropped the price to 130,000 from 145,000 when he called back after 3 days.
They said the closing transferred $110,000 into the Shumway account which Colbert accessed the funds.

Yes I know you don't have to pay off the lien of course it can be done at at closing by the title company, but somebody did go the trouble of paying off that $56,000 lien themselves before closing.
Why do you think they did that? For what reason would they have payed off that lien though...
Either the perp posed as Ron Shumway at the real estate closing or just simply paid someone to pose as Ron to facilitate the transaction.
Someone who pulled it off had to have some money already to pay off the $56,000 existing property lien right before closing so when they funded the closing...
