You would have thought the police would have considered Jodi’s apartment as an extension of the crime scene and dusted the place for prints, which would include the raised toilet seat.

I believe that Jodi did not receive a wake up call that morning, that she would have been on time. This stalker didn't have to wait for the prey. I also believe that Jodi was part of a lover’s triangle, which was the motive for the attack.

The toilet seat being up may be a red herring designed to point us away from the possibility of a woman committing this crime.
