JMO - I think he thought he planned this carefully - in his mind he maybe thought he was actually perpetrating the “perfect” crime, BUT in reality he was sloppy with some pretty key points - video and cell phone tracking. I think the sheath was left on purpose - but maybe he thought he wiped and...
She went missing a year ago right around the same time and was later found. I hope they find her this time. MOO

There is a little more information on the circumstances in the linked article:
“The woman, who is from North Dakota, was with two other men in the Highlands when their car got stuck Thursday.”
“The trio walked around seeking help when the woman got separated from the group.”...
There is an interesting tidbit towards the end of the news story. His half-brother Steven went missing in 2017 and is still missing. I wonder if there is any connection or if he’s still alive, out there somewhere. JMO
The perpetrator could be a relative (not sons or husband) or maybe she was a victim of domestic violence in the past and he was in prison and then released. JMO

A question that has been flipping around in my head … when he flew to Florida to move her things, why would he return, why not just stay there? Why go back at all? (Just my own opinion and speculation)
Ok - another thought. If he were able to fly back to FL to move her things, why drive the van back at all? Why not leave the van in Utah or wherever and just fly back to FL again? The driving back to FL is so bizarre to me. (Just my opinion and speculation)
If he drove the van that was registered to her (hence she was the owner) back to Florida alone, would that not appear to be theft of a vehicle? That part is really sticking with me. What gives him the right to take her mode of transport? Even is she was acting violent (big if here), I still...
This is only my opinion, but I think this will play out in a way much more complicated than any of us think. I am usually an Occam’s razor person BUT this case seems too layered to follow that rule. I think if the SM knew where G was at one time, she’s doesn’t any more. MOO all the way.
