In general it can't be brought up because it is seen as prejudicial. A jury might think if he has done a crime similar to this before, well then he certainly could again regardless of what the evidence states.

He was offered the plea and he didn't take it. 24 hours later changed his mind. Went to court and again changed his mind back to not taking it. Now the deal is off the table and the prosecution is adamant that they aren't offering it again and they won't be playing games with him.

Just noticed on Wayne County's circuit court page that there is a pre-trial set tomorrow for 9am. I didn't think the next court date was till 11/29 (the jury trial).
