It is possible as a renter that David might not have full use of the garage. When I rented my house, I allowed the renters 1/2 the garage space and I kept the other half for my storage use.
And as someone who grew up in rural America, if find this quite normal. When I was in school other kids drove to school in pickup trucks with gun racks (often containing shotguns or rifles) in the back window.
Think about this: If the singer did do this, and it wasn't planned ahead, and happened in the house, how would he get rid of the body?
There's probably always some combination of entourage/hangers on always around.
That's my opinion on why the body remained in the car, especially if no one else...
From a Google search is appears there is an LA wide regulation that vehicles parked along any public street or alley must be moved every 72 hours. Apparently it is very strictly enforced.
The polygraph statement really means nothing. Polygraphs aren't evidence that can be used in court. If the police really knew they should be uncovering evidence not making excuses about the suspect passing a polygraph.
You can completely fail a polygraph and it can never be mentioned at trial.
I think the letter could be convenient if it were a neighbor. The letter would shift attention away from the neighborhood, as would the car relocated to the mall. it's possible the letter came in a different envelope, maybe not even postmarked, and the wrong envelope was provided to the police...
Searching farmland where crops are growing could be very destructive, who would reimburse the farmer for crop damage? A missing Iowa truck driver (Davis Shultz) was hidden in a corn field that had been harvested. You could not search corn fields or bean fields throughly without crop destruction...
Wheels and tires can survive car fires because they are away from the main source of the heat. When you see the aftermath of car fires on the news the tires and wheels are still intact much of the time.
Except Charles Wallace was found. And is not this person.

It is quite possible that no one at the party knows what happened. Maybe not likely, but possible.
It's had to image that many people knew what happened or there would be talk.
The other odd thing, and I don’t think it matters too much in the investigation. Donald was 28, the next oldest was Barbie 14, then Virginia 13, and Susan 11. Donald would have been an only child for most of his school life. Then there this whole new group of sisters by the time he’s out of high...
I do agree that’s most likely. This was supposedly an impromptu outing, so unless someone followed them even a targeted crime probably would be unlikely to occur on this trip unless it happened near their residences. Of course I’d love to know why LE suspects foul play.
It’s quite possible the mother held out hope he was alive somewhere and that’s why it was written that way in the father’s obit. Then when she passed, other family members who believed differently wrote hers.
You’ll see that split among family where someone is missing. Some believe they are...
