    Switch blades are illegal in CA not that SW followed the law, but you can only have a 1.5 inch assisted ( switch blade ) knife in CA.

    I live 15 miles from the park, and I carry a knife with me every day. I hold an executive position in a technology company. It's not a large knife but a knife none the less I do not think its odd that people have knifes.

    Yes this is common, this is the main jail, htere is a tall walled in entrance with a gate that closes behind you and one opens. This is back of the Intake Center for the jail. Those two other guys are OC Detectives. Here is an above shot...

    The dirt in this area is very hard and clay like. I couldn't see anyone digging a shallow grave without tools. Maybe if this happened after our rain, but we had been very dry for a few months.

    You can normally check out the Orange County Sheriff blotter to get an idea: http://www.ocsd.org/gov/sheriff/howdoi/eservices/blotter.asp But I don't see anything from Newport that strikes my interest.
