So I will just comment generally, that some churchgoers in some circle in Australia say if one is not baptised, one is not a Christian. Apparently that gives them the entitlement to look down upon those who choose not to be baptised. So it is a big deal.

As far as I know, the PRC has a fixed and official system for translating Chinese/Mandarin words into English. The government does not allow names to be translated from dialect pronunciations.
From my experience with Southern Chinese ... I am pretty sure the missing couple are not of that...
