The batteries wouldn't have exploded, they would've caught fire and the fumes would've incapacitated the crew and passengers.

Great post. Cartels have been known to operate in this area and given how late at night it was it's definitely plausible to think he may have mistakenly wandered upon some nefarious activity. Why would he wander away from his truck though, knowing help is on the way?

Well, you are right, sort of. You can hear the engine revving at 1:54 and the shot is fired at 1:55. Also at 1:55 you can see that the officer is grabbing Samuel's seatbelt, so that's one hand with the gun and one hand on the seatbelt, this hardly seems like he's being dragged.

Seems unmistakable to me that he accelerates AFTER the shot. At 1:55 you can clearly see that Samuel has his hands up when he is shot.

There are numerous problems with the Maldives theory. Even the Maldives Civil Aviation Authority has dismissed the idea that MH370 ever passed by them, the witnesses saw a different plane.

I don't think so. They are all entitled to some sort of compensation though, I think that process is still ongoing.

This piece can help confirm that the data has been leading them to the correct conclusion, that the plane went down somewhere in the Indian ocean. I suspect they are probably in the right area, but have only completed about 40% of the search, it's an absolutely massive area and is painstaking...

Yes, I'm aware of that. It does appear so far to belong to a 777. One of the experts from CNN mentioned that this part wouldn't be painted the way it's though. :dunno:

The only other possibility for a piece like this as far as I can see is Yemenia Flight 626. However that was 6 years ago and this doesn't look like something that has been in the water for that long.
