    Very, very true. I lived in Lafayette for almost my entire life - in the Bendel Gardes and Greenbriar areas. We rarely had a violent crime, the serial rapist aside. I never felt afraid at night. The dynamics of Lafayette are very different than in most cities in the country.

    There was a case in Lafayette that began in the early 1980s and continued to mid 1990s - a serial rapist had the town in his grips. I personally knew 2 possible victims - both teen-age girls at the time. It turned out to be a 20 year LE veteran of the Sheriff's Department named Randy Comeaux...

    In the beginning the media reported that the bike was a $2,000.00 bicycle.

    I just read a news article where Mickey's Mom is quoted as saying since the discovery of the bike she now believes Mickey was involved in an accident. The police are not releasing the exact location (on water, water's edge or dry land) or condition of the bike, but that is a telling statement...
