WRAL news did report today that the judge agreed the 2 witnesses (Rosario and McCreary) the Defense requested could be called to testify (in Sept.) from out of state.

nope haven't heard... (get the feeling there aren't a lot of folks still following this case closely(?) -- is SimpleStarz still out there? she used to follow closely).
And wondering if one can assume that Takoy Jones is also tagged to be at trial?
WOW! this "motion" is pretty incredible (I think); quite long but should definitely be read by anyone still following this case. It clearly paints the case they are building, or at least insinuating, against Karena; chockfull of tidbits of information that are either new or different from what...
I see an "Administrative Hearing" for tomorrow has been cancelled.... anyone know if the "Status Conference" for 1/23 takes its place, or is that something totally different?
Anyone wanna bet whether or not the trial will actually begin on 9/28!? 😡
Just curious (can't remember if this has been answered before?) does anyone know how MESO's legal team is being paid? I think there's at least 3-4 private lawyers (and their staffs) involved now, after MESO spent years with a 'public defender,' and with all the delays, they're racking up some...
Here's a local news report on same story:
Durham County judge asks Chapel Hill police to find blood sample in Hedgepeth murder case
sheeeesh, looking for one single blood sample from 13 yrs. ago (are they hoping it has different male DNA than MESO, or what???) -- I'm not surprised if it's lost...
Wow, I’m still not clear WHAT has been taken off the calendar!??? I don’t see the January 15 hearing listed anymore, so is that mainly what has changed OR has the actual trial date (as mentioned here about a week ago) of SEPT. 28, 2026, now, poof, gone into thin air??? (obviously if the trial...
I'm thoroughly confused as well, but I'm guessin' the "status hearing conference" of Jan. 15, may be different from an "Administration Hearing" which perhaps will still take place on 11/6??? Or maybe lawyers & judges just always routinely take the Holiday Season, November & December, off every...
well, Lo-and Behold (deja vu all over again!) I see the 10/16 Administrative Hearing was CANCELLED... WTF and now re-scheduled for Nov. 6... (it was a nice day, so maybe someone didn't want their golf game interfered with  )
Thanks for this update... do we have any understanding of why the prior judge removed themselves from the case? ...and does this further delay proceedings or make no significant difference? (...by now I have very little faith in the Durham D.A. office!)
Also, I notice 2 prior "Administrative...
Wow, I just suddenly realized we missed the 13th anniversary of Faith's murder a week ago, with no acknowledgement.... how sad is THAT! No mention here, and no mention I heard of on campus (though perhaps there was something?). Just UNreal, and still no trial underway, and please spare me any...
feels like the defense is just slinging stuff at the walls to see if anything might stick.... and after all this time I don't fully get the point of all the DNA re-testing (other than a delay tactic?).... the only alternative person the defense is pointing a finger at is Karena, and she lived...
NEW filings in the case! (pointing at Rosario)... some of it is interesting by the end, though some of it sounds like reaching for straws:

Can some legal-eagle out there explain how much, if at all, this delays any start to trial?
Sorry, this has nothing to do with the Hedgepeth case, but since many of you live in the area thought maybe someone knows what the outcome was with this nearby odd death I just stumbled upon in Carrboro (from almost 1.5 yrs. ago):
NC - NC - Carrboro, BlkMale, 19-49, UP110826, Found in the back...
