Per the original Killing Fields TV show, Iberville Parish Sheriff's Office had a partial DNA sample and Derrick Todd Lee was definitely excluded. (Eugenie's ex-husband could not be excluded, but important to note that they did not have a full profile so they could not make an exact match.)
They did actually mention them (several people who spoke at the press conference mentioned them), and the prosecutor apologized. They did more than I thought they would, although as the prosecutor (correctly, IMO) stated, no apology can make up for what happened to them.
Also, the Murder Sheet...
I forgot, a third big thing: Brashers was stopped at the TX/Mexico border 2 days after the ICBY crime, and was arrested and convicted for a stolen car (out of Georgia) and I think for possession of a gun. That gun was matched in 2025 to the ICBY crime, and apparently it was also the gun that...
So far, there are two big things (but everyone should watch the whole thing if you have time):
1. the APD detective is very good and thorough. They are convinced that Brashers is the only perpetrator. That means (to me) that some of the reporting out there is not correct. I know that they had...
After this news broke yesterday, I went back to my copy of "Who Killed These Girls?" by Beverly Lowry (which is very detailed) because I was pretty sure there was a compelling reason why people were so sure there were two perpetrators. Besides the fact that there were 2 male customers left as...
This case already looks horrific and we don't even know most of the details yet. Thank you Clearsky for starting this thread!
I just found out about this from a Youtube video from Law & Crime:
Ugh. I don't know what to say about that. Peacock is a paid streaming service and it should be on there, but I don't know about differences between different countries. The Youtube video is the 'free' alternative for those in the U.S.
Some of it has already been discussed in news articles about...
The first episode of Death Row Confidential is on Youtube:
It includes their solutions to girl #5 - Girl from Miami near down peninsula (Charlotte Cook) and #4 - Girl on Mt. Tam (Gail Marie Dahl, also known as Gail Gardner).
Yes. I think they originally thought it referred to Miami FL, but it referred to someplace in the Bay area. Sorry I'm not going to be a lot of help here since I can't look it up again. If you haven't read any articles on Vanity Fair, it should let you read both of them. And when the TV show...
I believe that the note mentioning Miami actually referred to a location in San Francisco - this is detailed in one of the Vanity Fair articles linked in post #204. (It won't let me read them again as I have reached my limit of free articles from Vanity Fair.)
Smith County Sheriff’s Office confirms remains are that of missing Tyler woman
They must know something specific that is not public because they (LE) are saying foul play is 'expected'. Hopefully we find out what that is.
There will be a new TV show about Joseph Naso's crimes on Oxygen:
Fellow Inmate of Serial Killer Joseph Naso Helps Link Him To Other Crimes from Behind Bars | Oxygen
And a related series of stories in Vanity Fair...
I didn't realize there wasn't a Websleuths thread for him. I first heard about his case through the Gone Cold podcast. They covered it in May 2023:
The Kidnapping & Killing of Kim Nguyen Part 1: Without a Trace
The Kidnapping & Killing of Kim Nguyen Part 2: Nightmares
Just an incredibly sad...
Both King 5's Unsolved Northwest Youtube series and The Consult podcast have posted information about this case:
The Consult podcast:
89. The Unsolved Murder of Linda Malcom - Part 1
(they have only done one episode so far but looks like there will be at least 2, maybe more)
