I don't know. Very few natural or artificial ponds/lakes are just instantly 3 feet deep at the edge except maybe stone quarries or non-recreational water reservoirs. Lake Charles doesn't seem to be either.

I agree. At most there was some ice around the edges, not much. It had been in the 40s and low 50s F. (highs) for nearly a week before she arrived there. No way there was 2 to 3 inches of ice on that lake on the night of December 5.
