Yes, this was also a thought of ours. It's a bit more out of the way than his normal route but Ralf Peeks is an avid biker and was known to go as far north as Carlsbad on his bike on weekends.

Here are the areas we searched over the past weekend. This doesn't mean we should stop searching these areas since there are quite a lot of canyons, shrubs, bushes and trees and we could have easily missed something. This is just reference. Thanks again everyone for all for your thoughts, help...

not sure about the details but I spoke to Ralf on the Friday before he went missing and he was going to go up to Los Angeles first prior to moving back home to Germany so he was getting ready to start packing. He is a very organized and methodical person so it doesnt surprise me he would start...

Yes, we thought about this angle also and it has been brought up to the detectives as a possibility. I know he has used craigslist in the past to sell/purchase items and also find housing.
