    GUILTY Canada - Taliyah Marsman, 5, & Sara Baillie, 34, Calgary, 11 July 2016 #2

I agree, the graphic details do not need more exposure. I was thinking of the contrast of the coverage of this trial with that of the Garland trial. Maybe the impact of that trial was significant enough to change how child murders are reported on. Downey is a monster. :(

    GUILTY Canada - Taliyah Marsman, 5, & Sara Baillie, 34, Calgary, 11 July 2016 #2

I am surprised this trial is not getting more attention, it doesn’t seem like the reporters are even there all day some days. I believe it was mentioned either in the opening statement or by the initial responding officer that testified, Sara had been badly beaten before being asphyxiated but I...

Laura Babcock Murder Trial - *GUILTY*

I wish I could find it, but I am sure I read somewhere that Crown Counsel Cameron referenced cancelling CN's ticket they had purchased when they decided her appearance was not going to be helpful/she would not be truthful. That's the most likely scenario imo, that it was cancelled immediately...

Laura Babcock Murder Trial - *GUILTY*

There was a tweet post verdict that said this was TD's last case, made it sound like he was retiring. I'll have to try and find the link, I believe one of the reporters covering the trial retweeted it.

    Canada - Terry, 27, & Hailey Blanchette, 2, Blairmore, AB, 14 Sept 2015 #2

Hi JadeSleuth, I'm still haunted by the garland trial too. For that reason, not sure I have it in me to follow this case closely. I have deep sympathy for the court reporters too, it's been a very tough year for them covering cases. Sending you good thoughts!

    Deceased/Not Found Canada - Alvin, 66, & Kathy Liknes, 53, Nathan O'Brien, 5, Calgary, 30 Jun 2014 - #26

Wasn't there a weeklong voir dire in December for evidence admissibility? A week is a long time for a 4-5 week trial.I bet there will be revelations following jury sequestration. @kittymeow, did the evidence at trial match to the prelim? Or were you surprised by any? (Just out of curiosity)...

A few things- The charge for NO was upgraded after the prelim where the totality of evidence was presented. I think that says a lot about evidence yet to come. I thought crown prosecutors meet and practice with witnesses before they are called? Avoids anybody going off script with answers...

Bosma Murder Trial - Weekend Discussion #11

I could be remembering wrong, but wasn't there something mentioned/alluded to earlier in the trial by the Crown that there was something of importance or relevant to the trial in the folder that MM is seen carrying onto the elevator the morning that rhey arrive in the Yukon to pick her up?

    Bosma Murder Trial 03.30.16 - Day 27

I could be wrong but didn't JV mention giving his SIN number to DM for the setup of the home business? If so, who knows how or if DM used that number to setup the business. Seems weird and unusual he would use a contractor's info who wasn't getting ownership in the business. To me, that's where...

Bosma Murder Trial - Weekend Discussion #4

2 things that I have wondered about... I agree that LW has not come across as a very good witness...but aren't witnesses supposed to avoid all media/info on the trial prior to taking the stand? If she has honestly done that, and kept up a friendly enough relationship that she visited him in...

    Bosma Murder Trial 02.16.16 - Day 9

thanks so much to everybody who is compiling/reporting tweets. this case is as fascinating as it is heartbreaking and i have been keeping the entire Bosma family in my thoughts. it must be so very hard for them to sit in that court room every day. a random question to the posters who have been...

http://calgaryherald.com/news/crime/bloody-crime-scene-led-police-to-conclude-missing-boy-grandparents-likely-dead Wow, way more detail than has ever been released before. I feel so bad for JO, what a terrible scene to come upon. :-(

This case is gut wrenching. Not a day goes by that I don't think of little nathan and his family. I agree with news, I think DG is likely so mad that a little kid ruined what he no doubt felt was a fool proof plan and might feel "justified" in all of his actions. Somebody has to be pure evil to...

Not sure it's RO and LO, in the Val Fortney article in the herald, from last night, Neighbor GH said the OBs have been/are in Mexico on vacation. I did notice a reporter from the Sun had tweeted on the weekend that there was a young boy on scene. Reporter found it weird. (IMO, I do too)
