It wasn't a typical SF summer thunderstorm that bows itself out quickly. There was a low hanging over the state throwing storms non stop. The weather report warned we would be having bad weather for a few days as a result of the low.
I guarantee the parents are not reading websleuths. But someone might read our comments about what went wrong and change their future behavior, saving themselves or their kids.
This tragedy has already caused EPIRBs to fly off the shelves.
Someone posted a photo today of a cloud that sorta kinda looks like a dolphin and said it was a sign from God that the two boys are being protected by a pod of dolphins. WTH???
The newscaster is an idiot. The storms that day were definitely moving west to east.
As a born and bred South Floridian, it looks to me like there is a storm just off camera to the left. The color of the sky is a tell tale sign for me. It would make me run for cover.
The shot is facing east. The storm is coming from the west. Hence, that view looks nice and sunny. But the reality was there was a wicked storm behind the camera.
Most summer storms come from the west down here.

I have seen similar thoughts from others. I think it is important to point out that the Jupiter Inlet is extremely dangerous. You can't even break your focus to talk to someone on your own boat. Forget trying to maneuver your boat to talk to someone going in the opposite...
I have come to the conclusion that they are people who have (a) never seen the ocean and (b) spent science class smoking pot in the parking lot, then found religion later in life. There is no other logical explanation.
