A legend is that badly burned unknown corpse was that actually that of two children

Among those missing was one man named Goodwin Phillip Jenkins who was beleived to have been on the train but those remains were never positievly identified

"Archie Ayres ... made the coffins for the fifteen people killed in the train crash. According to his daughter,... he made thirteen coffins plus two small boxes. The latter contained the remains that could not be associated with particular individuals."

Wow, the accident involved three trains and the mail train engineer was charged with manslaughter, but was acquitted.
