After a week of long and painful sworn depositions from the family of Casey Anthony, her parents' attorney confirmed Thursday morning that George and Cindy Anthony will testify for the state in Casey Anthony's trial.

"I believe they will testify," attorney Brad Conway said during a "Today" show appearance. "They've told the truth from the beginning and their love for their daughter is not going to interfere with that."

Orlando defense attorney Richard Hornsby said the Anthonys have already testified through the previous sworn statements and depositions they've given. He said if they try to change their stories at trial to help Casey Anthony then their previous statements can be brought in.

"It's a gut punch because you're calling on this person's family to help put her to death," Hornsby said.

Anthonys' Attorney Reveals Questions Asked At Deposition

During Wednesday's deposition, Conway says prosecutors asked George what kind of mother Casey was and about the events between last June and July, when Caylee was reported missing.

"It was very professional, very respectful and very efficient. We got through yesterday. We don't have to come back and everybody cooperated and did the best they could. It was very successful," Conway said.

Conway also said the Anthonys' depositions in April for the civil suit against Casey were a publicity stunt. He said the latest depositions are legitimate preparations for trial.

Hmmm. Successful for whom? That question wasn't asked.

Casey Anthony, the daughter of George and Cindy Anthony, is charged with murdering her child, Caylee.

Conway predicted that the parents will take the stand in Casey's murder trial.

An NBC report drew attention to another milestone: If Caylee were still alive, she would have turned 4 this weekend, reporter Kerry Sanders noted. Her grandparents will privately mourn the loss, Sanders added.

Publisher says no book deal on Casey Anthony case
A Simon & Schuster spokesman said there is no book deal on the Casey Anthony case.

The publishing company, Simon & Schuster, deny any book deal with Casey Anthony's parents or anyone else with the case.

A local TV station reported a tipster had alerted the reporter about a possible book deal between Casey Anthony's parents, their attorney and a private investigator and Simon & Schuster.

However, Adam Rothberg, vice president of communication, sent an e-mail to the Orlando Sentinel.

"Simon & Schuster does not have a book deal with the Anthony's or anybody else associated with this case," he wrote.

Don't look for a George and Cindy Anthony book from big-time publisher Simon & Schuster.

Adam Rothberg, a vice president at the publishing house, writes: "Simon & Schuster does not have a book deal with the Anthony's or anybody else associated with this case."

In a report yesterday, WFTV's Kathi Belich said: "We heard from a reliable tipster that the Anthonys, their private eye and their lawyer are negotiating a package deal for a book with Simon & Schuster."

The publisher, part of the CBS Corp., was not commenting, she added.

Belich said her source was "a tipster who's been right before."

But not this time.

Maybe she should rechristen her source the sometimes-reliable tipster.
