2010.04.17 Shoemaker says Ron and families told to prepare for funeral

  • #361
Over at the SM site (I won't post the link but it's the latest Haleigh thread) Rob has said his sources confirm that there was human bones found at the search.

Rob is a pretty reliable and trusted poster over there and has many LE sources and is a friend of Tim Miller. jmo

Since there are two threads regarding funeral arrangements I figured this article belongs in both since it says LE talked to Ronald and Crystal.

LE presented two options to parents Ronald Cummings and Crystal Sheffield about a funeral for Haleigh.

Haleigh's family told to make funeral arrangements, did cops find a body?

"Snip" http://nancygrace.blogs.cnn.com/2010...s-find-a-body/

According to Merchant he presented two options to parents Ronald Cummings and Crystal Sheffield about a funeral for Haleigh:

The couple could wait seven years for Haleigh to be declared dead by the state of Florida and then be issued a death certificate or they can go before a judge before the seven years lapses to request a death certificate.

The talk of funerals and death certificates all comes while Law Enforcement officials continue to deny that a body or any form of remains belonging to Haleigh Cummings were located during their three day search of the St. Johns River.

There are persons of interest still to be named. Sheriff's Office is not releasing names we were told "I think ya'll know who they are."

Then Ron's lawyer was lying?

IIRC Shoemaker said that is what Ron told him. Someone isn't telling the truth it seems, wonder why?

Then Ron's lawyer was lying?

Shoemaker has been caught in more than one of these types of instances. He listens to his client, he made it plain that he himself was not present at the meeting. Lying; not exactly, repeating; exactly.

I am sure that we will hear these people come out and admit to a huge mistake, in the telling of this story. Any minute now...waiting...

I don't care what Shoemaker's excuse is, this proves there is ZERO credibility in anything he says:

"We would never tell them something as cold-hearted as prepare for a funeral," he said, adding that the family would be told if the girl were found.

It doesn't get any more black and white than that.

45 minutes early for work at PDM my azz.....

Just letting everyone know that I am glad this mess has been settled by PCSO. It's sad the " inside source close to the case" that made these statements
(bones/funeral) has caused pain to a family that have enough to deal with right now.

Haleigh case update: No human remains in St.
Maj. Bowling states:

I believe the plan for a funeral comment came from Ron. LE told him Haleigh was deceased and he made it about him. '''I"" have to plan a funeral.

So I am a little miffed with Shoey after reading this from LE:

Haleigh case update: No human remains in St. Johns

SNIPPED>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Asked how officers reached the decision that this was now a homicide case, Bowling said, "It's a lot of information over the last few weeks. None of us believe we are looking for an alive child anymore."

But, he said, officials also have not told family members to "prepare for a funeral."

Various news reports have said Haleigh's family were told to make funeral arrangements.

"We would never tell them something as cold-hearted as prepare for a funeral," he said, adding that the family would be told if the girl were found

KSH told us a few days ago that it was not true and that's good enough for me.
