Casey Defense Wants More Time For Expert Reports
Defense Says One Expert's Report Is 'Moot'

Defense attorney Jose Baez also asked the court for an additional 45 days to comply with a court order for reports from two defense experts, Dr. Bill Rodriguez and Dr. Kathy Reichs.

Baez was fined by Judge Belvin Perry for not providing the reports in a timely manner. Perry said that any information that was not in the reports could not be presented at the trial.

Jose Baez wants more time to file expert witness reports

In a motion asking for an extension of time to comply with Chief Judge Belvin Perry's Jan. 6 order for the expert witness reports, Baez explains that the defense has "substantially complied" with the order.

Reports by several doctors and experts for the defense have been turned over to the prosecution, the motion says.

It also mentions that noted forensic expert Dr. Henry Lee's report "has become moot…as it has not become necessary to call him as a witness."
