A homeless woman who had entered a Hong Kong McDonald's 24 hours previously was discovered to have died in her chair. Medics were only called out when a female customer noticed she wasn't moving and thought the woman - aged around 50 to 60 - had fainted.

McDonalds issued a statement expressing its grief over the incident and explained that in order to provide a 'pleasant dining environment' customers are not disturbed, but help is always available 'upon request'.
