I really hate to sound like I"m blaming victims and I know there must be a reason but why do people think the roommates waited so many hours before calling 911??

Well, initially I had actually hoped that they called earlier, that LE made a small appearance in non-official cars after it was clear they were deceased (could this explain photos taken by BF?), and immediately went into let's send no information out, stalling the 911 call from record. They would have to be quick on their feet for this kind of thinking. Then, they could sit and watch if the murder came back.

Maybe it's wishful thinking, but it is possible (obviously this conflicts with what's reported). JMOO

I don't know why this popped into my head, but looking at these time stamps does anyone remember "when" Xana ordered food and a time stamp of "when" it arrived?

I know by 4.17am, security cameras located just to the northwest of the home picked up distorted audio of what sounded like voices or a whimper followed by a thud (my guess Xana).
Law enforcement also determined Kernodle received a DoorDash order at approximately 4 a.m. and was still up using TikTok at approximately 4:12 a.m.

In the new court filing, phone records show Mortensen tried calling the other four roommates – but got no response – around the time when security camera from a residence close to the home picked up at 4:17 a.m. distorted audio of voices, a whimper, followed by a loud thud, and a barking dog.

I think the drive by caught on news video may have been BK. When was that, the day after?
At the time I looked in detail at the white car that was filmed driving behind the reporter, and i did not feel it was an Elantra - it didn't have the triangular back window shape.
But it has been a while. Knowing this new info could reveal a lot.

Ya know, someone lacking the motor skills to commit the murders of 4 intoxicated and/or sleeping students at 4am, with a military grade knife with a 7-inch blade, made specifically for killing, likely would also lack the motor skills to unfold and hang a shower curtain. Maybe he was indeed celebrating that accomplishment, and not the murders. Maybe the defense can run with that angle. JMO
Apparently he boxed and physically dominated friends without a problem.

ETA- I've just caught up and seen that @sassyblue and @Vaderman had the same idea!

I'm wondering if this is his version of a trophy. If he wasn't expecting to kill 4 people, maybe his plans went away and he didn't have time to take a trophy, so the next best thing, and also something that couldn't tie him directly to the murders like a physical trophy would, is this selfie that he could look at any time he felt the urge to relive that night.
I just had a trophy thought.....could the ear buds be a physical trophy?...maybe he even got rid of them during his drive south but took a selfie of the trophy. IMO, XK could have been wearing some to not disturb EC if he was falling asleep? Typically a person just out of the shower with wet hair - well, the ear buds are out of place. I guess this is one of those things we will never know.

I've gone back and forth on this in my head, but settling on it being a shower curtain for several reasons.

1) I think I can see the top of the curtain here:

2) At one point I wondered if it was sunshine though a window but I'm thinking that line would be straight, and it's curvy.

3) The "grout lines" don't line up on what I think is a curtain.

4) If they were grout lines and that's the corner of the shower, I'd think they'd be more angled something like this:

5) Lastly... one of those "grout lines"/shower curtain folds looks convex to me, not concave:

All just my amateurish opinion on shower curtains and grout. :)
Could it be that he’s already installed a brand new plastic shower curtain (he bought before murders as part of preparations) and what some think are grout lines are the folds? I think the horizontal lines aren’t precise enough to be grout between tiles. MOO.

you guys, what is the truth about Bryan stalking one or all of the girls on Facebook or insta? has that ever been confirmed? mOO
Recently trying to remember/wondering the same thing, if there was anything publicly available about BK stalking any of the victims on SM, and there's this, from almost a year ago (BBM):

Idaho Murder Case: Truth About Bryan Kohberger’s Social Media Stalking Allegations Revealed - E! Online

Idaho murder case prosecutors agreed that Bryan Kohberger—who's accused of killing four university students in November 2022—didn't stalk one of the victims on social media before their death.

"Bryan Kohberger is off the hook for one allegation.

The 29-year-old, who has been accused of murdering four University of Idaho students back in November 2022, did not stalk one of the victims before their deaths, both the prosecution and defense agreed during an April 10 court hearing, according to the Idaho Statesman."

He couldn't control himself that day. I bet he was excited and giddy about it and I wonder if there was anyone in his life that noticed a change in him during that time?
Some of his students said his behavior as TA changed after the murders. It was like he didn't give a crap.

That could be because of the murders or because of the complaints his Prof had to address with BK and the TA position not working out.

Yes, that was the point of my post. :)

And tickle people who don't want to be tickled.

Unwelcome but quite dexterous. Handsy.

Shower Curtain?

@Gemmie Thx for marking the pix to explain why it likely is a curtain.

Should we ask Martha Stewart or Joanna Gaines/Magnolia to join the convo & weigh in? jk
I'd go with Martha, she's a sassy little minx and would probably discuss over cocktails. 🤭

the thing I can't wrap my head around is that house is so rambling. How did he know how to get around in it? Or in real is it easier to find your way? The virtual diagram to me, if I were a juror, would be so confusing. All those levels stacked on top of each other.

He had to have cased that place out numerous times. It is possible he was inside of it as well??

I know that's what they're saying, but I still think there's room for interpretation on that. Maybe BK targeted a house full of pretty young sorority girls, the kind that he could never hope to date. IDK

I’m way behind so forgive me for posting something that I’m sure has been posted 1000x already, which I’ll see when I catch up:

He looks so freaking SATIATED in the thumbs-up picture. I cannot bear it.

Satiated, satisfied, fulfilled.

Also proud, relaxed, relieved.

“Job well done,” I imagine he’s thinking to himself.

IMO he’s so pleased after all his planning that it went so “smoothly,” as far as he knew at the time.

This picture is after the murders, but before the morning when he took another ride to the murder scene. Probably wanting to relive it and bask in his “success.”

Before he knew he was the suspect.

He must have known by then that he’d left the sheath behind, but figured he’d gotten away with it and no one would know it was him. (Yay to DNA)!; Or possibly returned to the scene in hopes of finding the sheath?

If his intent was to kill just one, he looks very contented that he killed a “bonus” three more kids.

It’s really indisputable that BK is the murderer. The DNA (yay again DNA)! and the knife purchases really just end the last of anything the defense cares to say.

In my opinion, of course.

If I was going to commit that crime, I'd study the layout on Zillow.

Remember the story of one of his male friends from HS saying BK got him in a headlock and seriously, not in a joking way? BK wants/likes to exert some form of control and dominance over those who are weaker than himself. IMO

  • #599
Do we know anything about the lighting in the house? Would there have been any lights on, would curtains be open, enough street lighting coming in? Could BK have had a torch?

Hah, we had those house specs and rental postings pictures the day of the crime.
