I haven’t seen the image posted, but saw a YouTube video today where DM had drawn a picture of the mask (balaclava) on notebook paper for LE. Can anyone confirm this shows up in the released documents?

I was reading the comments below the video and one poster wondered why a terrified college student would spend part of the next morning on social media. To me it seemed obvious DM was checking for posting activity from her suspiciously silent roommates following the previous nights events. Is this the consensus of most here on Webslueths?

I, personally, also strongly believe that MM was the target, and was killed first, followed by KG, then EC and XK. Not everyone has read all 100+ threads of this case, as I, and perhaps you have, though, and I just think we need to sometimes remind newcomers, and ourselves, that there is far more that we do not know, for certain, about these murders still, than things that we do know, and lots of what we think we know, has never been confirmed by named authorities. "Unnamed sources" and even family members sometimes are not as informed as they may think, and may get things wrong at times. JMO
I too have read and participated in all of the threads/posts. Here and elsewhere from Day 1. The vast majority of my post count (90% plus) is in thethreads about this case.

Im in the Xana and Ethan could have been killed first crowd. In each and every argument ive made ive backed up my theory with facts or approved sources. But have also been careful to say that it’s just a theory.

If BK had encountered Xana he would have likely immediately attacked her. What if he did and Ethan came out? And Xana got back to the room seriously wounded. And Ethan tries to run to the safety of the room after being attacked? There’s nothing impossible about any of that.

All that to say I don’t think an interpretation of someone’s opinion is indicative of how long they’ve been following this case. I still remember when everyone was insisting that DM and BF slept through the entire thing and I was one of the few saying they were awake and communicating. The threads are there

MOO.

Yes, they were experiencing "cognitive dissonance" where their brain was refusing to acknowledge or accept the reality of what they saw and seeks to find a rational explanation. It's a very typical human psychological defense mechanism to a traumatic situation. They were probably trying to convince themselves that, for example, the dead roommates had awakened and left the house while BF and the other surviving roomie were asleep.

Poor girls, it's horrific to consider. Same for the friends they called to come help them, who ended up finding the bodies. College kids should be enjoying their fun college years before making the rite of passage to adulthood.

My MIL once told me of her experiences as the wife of a military combat pilot, going with the clergy give other pilots wives the news of their husbands' deaths in combat. People respond in the most irrational ways when they receive that kind of news. From refusing to answer the door to seeing the priest's car arriving and running into the street screaming, falling to their knees in the middle of the road.

Part of your brain seems to just shut down and stops functioning for a while. Everyone handles it differently, but denial of the reality is very common. JMO, the jury will understand what those girls went through.

Was MM room above DM room or X?

This is interesting and maybe there are several definitions.

Sort of temporary amnesia & wandering. Wow. I once went into shock and, in retrospect, was amazed at what my body went through as well as my mind. I don't remember much, all of my coping just gave up. JMOO

Here we go.

DM's drawing of the mask is on the last page of Defendant's Reply to State's Response to Motion in Limine 7 RE Witness Identification by Bushy Eyebrows.

I was looking over my timeline for all things knife related. I was pretty confused about what AT said during the hearing. She mentioned that the testimony given by a Grand Jury witness (a family member IMO) allowed LE to know exactly what they were asking Amazon for.

When I look at the warrant the specifics are:

- the first date range (I believe the order was placed specifically on the 30th.

- the knowledge that BKs Amazon custom name included his middle initial

- the email that made the order

- the phone number attached to the order

We know it couldn’t have been BKs account. If anyone in his family had his password AT would have surely told us about it. IMO

It could have been a receipt of some kind. From searching BKs room maybe. Amazon does send one in the box. We’d have to think that BK wouldn’t leave that laying around for 6 months. But with this guy, who knows? But I suspect that the warrant would have included a specific transaction number if they had the original receipt. JMO

My theory is that LE for one reason or another missed Kohlbergers name in the original data set Amazon sent to them shortly after the murders. And they never revisited after he became a suspect. IMO

I think that a family member provided LE with a time range or date of the order. They revisited the Amazon data. And they found BKs name, email address, and phone number on the original KaBar provided by that 2022 warrant. And using that list they were able to write that extremely detailed warrant with date ranges and knife related items.

And besides, I think we have seen enough in these court filings to know that were 1122 King Rd still there, defense would still find countless things about it to object to. JMO
The defense would be screaming that it was a distraction and attracted too much attention.

Surely you jest! Their expert barely has time to look at one that the state builds. He is a busy man... JMO
Was this model built with a 3d printer? Inquiring minds want to know. If so they could 3d print beds and furniture.

Is it just me, or does this more look like a Hoodie pulled down with a face mask or face gaiter?

It's why having the texts and phone records of those girls is so critical in helping the jury understand what happened. The girls may have even forgotten some of the details of their texting and SM actions. DM must have had a strong impression of what had just transpired when she heard the girls crying and saw BK in the hallway. It sounds like she went into a sort of denial shortly afterwards. She knew she was in danger, but didn't call 911. JMO, it was like being mentally frozen in shock.

The same type of reactions can occur to soldiers in combat, etc. It tends to be worse in a murder or mass shooting where people are attacked in a place they normally feel is safe - their home, school or workplace.

Very often, you also hear people who witness and survive a murder (or mass shooting) who remain frozen in fear, hiding for a long period of time because they are afraid the killer is still there, outside the room or house, etc. It's a very typical reaction.

Trying to figure this out because I obviously don't have an Amazon account that differentiates who bought what unless it is going to a separate address or using a different card. You say "we know it couldn't have been BKs account". Do we know that? For sure?

Then you mention knowledge of BKs Amazon custom name, email and phone number that places the order. Is there an Amazon type of account that has these separately for a family for purchases on the same account? Mine doesn't, but it's older than dirt. My D has a user account on my account because we were in the same house, but it's only associated with Prime video, music, etc. Not with the purchasing account.

Is there such a thing as a family account with separate logins for the same account? TIA

Yes, for autonomy, a household account allows you to tether together for Amazon Prime but retain logins and privacy. So just use of cards, etc not details of searches and everything.

I think they were looking for activity from the roommates as well as messaging family and friends through Instagram and Snapchat, and waiting for the roommates to wake up--still hoping they were going to wake up. They didn't start texting and calling them again until about 10:30 that morning. They were up, but still hoping the other roommates were just sleeping.
