The video feed, of BK's car in the vicinity of the murders, nails him there, with the DNA, sheath, Amazon records, eyewitness testimony, and we still have not seen everything the prosecution has against BK.

Call that trial done deal, sealed and delivered to the jury. I am trying to conceptualize the defense. It seems like the defense strategy was to try to get all evidence suppressed for some reason. The defense can harp on random DNA in the house that was not tested, but, why bother when the murder weapon sheath was found right under the victim's body? That is the DNA to test, right ther

I’m not great with puns, but in the spirit of solidarity I will offer “drivebry,” for the repeated times he drove by the house that night.
Lord, he circled that house like a shark circles it’s prey. I even said outloud…stop! As if it could change anything. The footage was both awesome and heartbreaking.

Totally agree on that. This wasn't just supposed to lay out the prosecution case against him, but paint the picture. It comes off as one-sided because his family isn't talking. Just a strange event, one that could certainly help the defense a bit.

I'm sure he wasn't in much danger though, as he certainly had his trusty Ka-Bar!
Um, maybe it's just me, but I wouldn't want to face a bear or a mountain lion with only a Ka-bar knife. What are you going to do, stab the animal as it mauls you?

Plus KG had literally jsut got a new car. If he knew her old car then the presence of her new one would have left him clueless she was there. He may have taken her car not being there as confirmation she wasn't there.
If BK kept tabs on Kaylee’s Instagram account (without necessarily following it), he may have guessed she would be spending the entire weekend in Moscow.

On November 11, Kaylee posed with Dylan in two photos, describing herself as Dylan’s “plus one” (at a sorority party, IIRC—No wonder poor Dylan said what sounded like “poor Kaylee” during the 911 call).

And on November 12, Kaylee posted pictures of all five roommates (including the most famous one with Ethan), declaring what a lucky girl she was.

It was a game weekend, so why would she return home on Saturday?

Anyway, Ethan’s car was parked out front, along with Kaylee’s new car, and BK still went in. That’s how invincible he felt. He didn’t care who he might encounter.

Well, police did find a gun during their search of his parent’s house in PA.

Hahahha, of course not. I was joking.

Turning on Anne Taylor voice:

"Ah, but remember--there's no proof that it is his car and him driving it because they couldn't see the license plate in any video of that night and they can't see who is inside the car in the video.

There were just oodles of white Elantras from a similar model year and with only a rear plate that could have been driving around that neighborhood in the middle of the night. Why, even the car that is seen doing loops on the neighbor's security camera--who can be sure it's the same Elantra each time? One white Elantra goes around, and there's another one to replace it! Those darned white Elantras with one plate are as thick as bunnies around these parts."
Yet  one Elantra in particular leaves the WSU campus parking lot where BK lives. AT herself confirms that is BK in his own car, driving around with his cellphone. At 2:54am it's his Elantra..... but somehow it's not his car until about 5am when it's his car again.

Abry cadabry, presto chango, AT is trying to pull a rabbit out of her hat, but unless the jury is asleep, that rabbit is going nowhere.

There's no second driver, no second Elantra. BK wasn't somewhere else, the banister blood isn't related, no one transferred BK's DNA to the sheath or to the crime scene. He did that all bry himself.

His conviction can't come soon enough.

It is a fact, we cannot go running in the dark, but somebody who is a misogynist and thinks like BK can. JMOO
Indeed:
Existence alone had never been enough for him; he had always wanted more. Perhaps it was only from the force of his desires that he had regarded himself as a man to whom more was permitted than to others.

The phone call I really want to hear about is the first call that he either told his parents about the murders, or they heard of them through news or internet. What about the first call after it became known that LE were looking for a car very similar to his? Did he quickly point out that he was glad that his was a 2015, since they were looking for a 2011-2013? Was he eager to talk to his parents about the murders, as news unfolded, or did they ask him about them? Did they avoid the subject? Did he steer talk away from them if they came up? Did he pretend not to be following them, or conversely, did he give them "too much" information, perhaps some that was not yet public? What was the point at which the first family member thought, omg, it may have been him? Did they share that with all of the other family members right away? Did anyone dare ask BK about any similarities or coincidences they may have become aware of?

Those are the phone calls I really want to hear about. JMO
The only way we hear any of the above about those phone call is if his family members testify truthfully about them.

I don't think his Dad will. Nor his Mom. IMO And if his sister were not involved in the calls, they won't be able to testify about them. imo

So I am really interested to see what happens. The prosecution can ask his parents what the calls were about but I don't think they are legally required to answer beyond saying 'I don't recall' or we just spoke about upcoming family Thanksgiving plans, etc. It was nothing, etc.

But his dad held him accountable for his theft of his sister’s cell phone. I hope BK’s family members, when confronted with the cold, hard evidence, will not lie on the stand. One can love a son, a brother, yet hate their actions. Plead for mercy, yes, but don’t help him evade justice. What other hope (sadly, exceedingly small, at this point—IMO) does BK have for redemption?

We've got quite the Bry-isms going...Brybrow (Megnut) Discoverbry (You) and my annoying I'm sure Bye bye, Bry, any others I've missed?

Some much needed levity in this very dark, awful case.

JMO
I can't condone this. But I can participate.

DWBry? DWI - now Driving While Bryan - as in, Don't Do It. No to a white elantra, No to driving bumper to bumper on the highway, No to casing houses, No to committing any crime at all with your own car while claiming to be a criminal mastermind, a legend in his own Brynd. Dip Brynt. Does the visual snow make him assume all cars are white at night and hence almost invisible?

I also didn't say I was good at this.

PS It is 3 am here. Not on my A game like DWBry.

But my vote has gotta go to nsync:

I know that I can't take anymore white cars
Or all your lies
I wanna see you behind those bars
Sick duck, bye bye Bry

I believe BK's family members will be truthful, I just get that feeling (Mom more shielding IMO). Plus, they've already given written and/or taped statements to LE, so it wouldn't help BK at all to change their story on the stand.

Didn't I read in the Motion by the Defense to allow BK's family to remain in the Courtroom the entire time that they had a limited amount of testimony? It's been hard to keep up with all the details, we first had that big drop of Motions and Orders, then the Dateline special, and crazy RL keeps getting in the way lol.

HAHA, I was wondering if anyone else picked up on that when I first typed it. I always sing it in my head to the Insync melody.

Like I said, not being disrespectful or making light of the situation, just a little levity on some dark days. :(

Thinking like a female juror who was once a distance runner, him being on a trail at night scares the bejeepers out of me. WhenI finished a run when it started to get dark, running into a man at that time of night would have scared me.
Same, especially after closely following the Mollie Tibbets case plus the hundred others (guesstimate) on Websleuths of a female runner being abducted and murdered. Infuriating and sad, but true.

Hey everyone, I've kind of lost interest in this case as any doubt about whodunnit is totally gone IMO ever since the post-murder amazon sheath searches came out in court documents.
However I am getting back on here just to say I'm really annoyed that the prosecution has clearly been ignoring the gag order to leak so much material to Dateline. Or was it the feds. Highly doubtful it would be the defense seeing how prejudicial the footage etc is. Either way, what was the point of a gag order all along just to come to this now. Very irritating IMO.

I doubt BK EVER talks about what other people want to talk about. Including at traffic stops.

He talks about what HE wants to talk about.

Thai food and PA's lack of crosswalks...

I am going to guess that his sisters were very aware he had never dated anyone while boasting about the hot Moscow girls... and parties he never attended or barely attended.

Girl mentions hiking. BK shows up where people are hiking. I think he's an opportunist, wherebry HE is not only taking advantage of opportunities, he's busy creating them.

Like his colleague, where he creeps her out by moving things around in her apartment (maybe not his first time there either, maybe just the first time he pushed it so far she noticed it), in order then to orchestrate a false sense of security which he could next exploit.

Something perverse and sadistic about that.

Maybe HE didn't sit in the chair but he forced XK to.

XK's music goes of at 4:12, the audio starts at 4:17.... it suggests that he was engaged with XK for five minutes, that is a loooooong forever when one side of the conversation has a Kbar.

Somehow he had her incapacitated, by force or injury, while he murdered EC. In that moment IMO XK had no world outside her room. And honestly, who could expect her to. I doubt she was able even to comprehend he may have murdered KG and MM, BF and DM. She would have been consumed with survival and trying to make since of what was happening in her room. Whimpers, crying, IMO involuntary utterances, she might not have been aware herself that she did or didn't make a sound.

I can't myself make much sense of the audio but could the thud have occurred outside, BK jumping from a retaining wall, for instance?

Could 'It's okay in here to help you' been what DM and the audio picked up, DM looks out, BK is leaving, jumps off a retaining wall, dog starts barking, all one sequence, occurring within
seconds?

jmo
Could the dog have knocked something over? I mean, that is one very, very loud thud, it likely must have been something quite large to produce that. If it were something very large in a room and some very large object did fall over or topple, surely LE must have a pretty good idea of what caused the thud because they'd have seen something quite large out of place as they moved through. And maybe they did, and we're just not aware of that yet. But if LE saw nothing like that, then-- it's nothing large that toppled. So what could have made such a noise, then? Maybe him jumping onto something, some surface, from a distance? We don't know as of yet that he didn't jump from one floor to the other, correct? But I can only picture him doing that If he were already panicked and knew he had to get out of there. But the noise itself may well have been the thing that prompted the panic, so-- this wouldn't really make complete sense with the idea of him somehow producing the noise himself as he left in a panic. I've seen a photo supposedly into Kaylee's room and her bed is still there, so I'd assume perhaps at least some furnishings are still in there, and the dog was in there, I believe. And BK doesn't want loud noises. This is part of what drew him to the use of a knife to begin with, I'm sure. When all of these horrific events are unfolding, the victims are within his control, so I cannot picture him allowing anything to occur that would produce a noise so loud. That's why I'm wondering about the dog.

Are they still also considering the idea that this was Xana falling to the floor? I know that was being circulated earlier as the thieory for the thud, but I have to say, I tend to agree with those that say a person falling to the floor would not have produced a loud enough noise to be picked up by the deivce. But it's just guesswork. And just adding in on a quick edit here, was there an outdoor grill, like a gas grill, out back of that house, near the slider? The thud I hear sounds like something striking metal/aluminum, and hard. Now, again, it may not be that at all, but I can't help but wonder, too, about what made that thud. I've been wondering for a long time.

I agree, it seems like such a weird thing to do.

IMO it was either jealousy and hatred, or it may have simply been more pragmatic.

He didn’t know he’d have to also fight off a big guy, so he went to plan B and crippled Ethan, rendering E. unable to get off the bed and fight back.

Just my speculation.
Agree, I think it could have been a bit of both. He definitely had to incapacitate the biggest threat, but a forceful punch to the upper torso, neck area with that KABAR would have done that.

To take the time to 'carve' Ethan's legs seems more than that to me. It's like punishment for being in a house with all the pretty young girls hatred of the popular jock kind of thing IMO.
