I'd love to know if the hearing had already started when the media was allowed in. Have we heard about any closed portion prior? That's where I imagine any Dateline stuff would be discussed.

To me the two most important things were him basically keeping a murder scrapbook on his phone, and the click history beginning two days after the murders, and one day before we heard about the Ka-Bar. Absolutely damning.

They might need it. This trial is going to be emotionally exhausting.

I just heard sequestration for the Penalty phase. I hope that will help them focus yet give them time to decompress in a neutral and generic setting of a hotel. Except if the deliberations start to come up against the Thanksgiving and XMas season, if trial goes into November as they have now scheduled.

Bryan Kohberger names alternate suspect he claims is the real killer of 4 University of Idaho students.

Judge Hippler gave Kohberger's defense a deadline of May 23 to hand him ‘whatever actual evidence you have that supports those allegations other than just allegations.'

He also ordered the defense to 'provide for me how it is you believe that what you're offering is admissible' at trial.

The state will then have until June 6 to respond to the defense claims, before the two sides battle it out in a hearing later in the month. The judge will then rule whether or not the jury can hear about this alternate suspect at trial.

Kohberger judge says the intent is not to sequester the jury -- but that could change during the trial.Sequestering a jury is a very big deal - it means putting them in hotels and limiting their contact with the outside world.Imagine having to go into a hotel for 3 months.

I'm not sure I agree with Judge H regarding the broadcasting of LE faces if they are undercover officers. He said if they weren't converting this case, but would he really be willing to blow apart active cases and possibly endanger the individual concerned in order to fulfil the publics right to know?

I think I read recently that Nick Ballance (i think that's his name) is currently undercover and his face was kept hidden during recent testimoney.

Hippler isn't going to let her throw someone out there for whom she can make no case.

That’s correct. Someone here said they hoped the inaccuracies would drive Kohberher’s OCD self bananas. Or something like that. It’s an enjoyable thought.
