I would bet just about whatever that BK the Criminology expert and VEGAN did not purchase a kbar with a leather sheath anywhere or ever and especially off of Amazon.

Just my 2 cents
He would have purchased it well before he had a specific plan, as part of the fantasy stage.

Lol, lots of people are vegan or vegetarian and it has nothing to do with their stance on animal welfare. This guy had weight issues when he was younger after all.

Also, if one is vegan because they care about animals, there is no way to reconcile that with massacring humans.

This argument works on absolutely no level.

Of course unidentified male DNA would be found at the Moscow, ID house where college males and females would hangout, and of course, defense will use this as a goldmine create another rabbit hole. moo

Also, we're talking about a vegan who has potentially slaughtered four people. If responsible, he clearly doesn't hold all sentient life sacred.

Was just going to post the same thing.

Clearly, BK was able to tuck away his principles about not harming animals long enough to fatally harm four human beings.

I’ve been a vegetarian since 1978 and it has to do with my taste buds, not with animal well-being. There are many reasons why people choose their diet and it’s not always about tender doctrines.

IMO

@kfixler

New: Blood DNA from unidentified males was found at the #Moscow home where the #Idaho4 were killed. Legal experts expect the defense will present that evidence to "muddy the waters" at #BryanKohberger's capital murder trial this upcoming summer in Boise.

Nothing new there. Important to remember that this is the same DNA we heard about a long time ago, although we didn’t know two samples were blood.

Any argument that it was ignored is destroyed by the fact that they intended to upload it to CODIS, but could not.

And it doesn’t change the probable cause, as the judge pointed out:

“How does that, even if disclosed, preclude a finding of probable cause when there’s a DNA match between the DNA on the sheath and Mr. Kohberger?” he asked Taylor. “Isn’t that probable cause every day and twice on Sunday?”

Yeah, my partner's aunt and uncle are vegetarians, have been for decades, with the exception of fish, "because they're ugly". (No, seriously.)

There isn't just one way or reason for dietary choices like vegetarianism or veganism. It's as personal and varied as the individuals who choose to practice it.

Yes, agreed. Posting for those who may not be aware and to have on record. ;)

Very detailed article, too. moo

Hahahha that wasn’t a shot at you. Just the fact that this was packaged by them as some sort of breaking news.

This is fun:

So how did a sheath for a fixed-blade knife get there, and how did Bryan Kohberger’s skin cells allegedly wind up on it if he was not involved?

Taylor acknowledged that is the most significant issue ahead at trial. “I mean, that’s the ultimate question that will be before a jury,” Taylor said. “What does a knife sheath at a scene mean?”

Hippler shot back: “If you’re killed with a knife, that probably means a lot.” “It might,
” she said.

Didnt take it personal. lol

And where did we hear about "male DNA found on the glove outside" before? Good grief...

Yeah, well, not every vegan is the same.

I've known people who have no problem with using leather or wool, they just don't want to eat dead animals.

Also, we're talking about a vegan who has potentially slaughtered four people. If responsible, he clearly doesn't hold all sentient life sacred.

And just to add....BK had a job filleting fish and knew his way around a knife.

And to add here, the glove was found DAYS later. After PD scoured the area.

Amazon has toothpaste? Well knock me over with a feather.

People think differently. My question was, what kind of socks did he choose?

Probably. It is just hard to reconcile two things,

- that in the town, with the victims being well-known. but also, very different and visibly going via divergent paths, with so many people in their orbit, no one is involved,

- and, that a loner in another state, probably training to be a serial killer, instead, choosing not a trail (indeed, to the South of Pulman), but breaking into the house, most likely, planning to leave one body and leaving with four murders. Again, we are not talking about average person, and human behaviors are unpredictable, and maybe he was dreaming of such a scenario through all the Covid time, and the first time he moved out of the house, he tried it. But what a weird mess.
But the other state is what 10 miles from the state border? So easier not to soil your own nest/be discovered? Besides from what I hear U of Idaho has a reputation as a party school, and so was this house full of girls. He figured easy prey. Especially if your victim was drunk/asleep when you attack.

So what will you think when there isn't any stalking that comes up at the trial?

Why would BT say on record BK never stalked them but then say BK stalked him during the trial?

In my opinion that doesn't make any sense whatsoever

All MOO
I believe that there WILL be evidence of stalking presented at trial. I have my reasons. Plus, many stalking victims aren't aware that they are being stalked. Rebecca Shaeffer- actress of My Sister Sam was a prime example.

I believe you mentioned earlier that you didn't have a good mental image of this knife? I suggest you do an image search on Ka-Bar USMC knife. I've seen one in person at a military surplus store, so I have a very good sense of scale.

We're going to assume that a standard full sized Ka-Bar USMC knife is what was in the full sized Ka-Bar USMC sheath.

The blade is 7 inches long. The total length of the knife, including handle, is nearly 12 inches long. Grab a standard 12" ruler and hold it to your belt area to see how far it goes down your leg.

This is not a subtle knife. It's not going to fit in a pocket. It's very noticeable. If you walk into a drug deal with it strapped to your belt, they are going to assume hostility and things are going to proceed very badly--if you even got let in wearing it in the first place. And it's not a knife that you are going to just take off your belt, put it down, and zonk out around other people.

In the woods, you might not get a second glance for wearing it. In an urban environment--you are going to be noticed and it's going to be taken as a threat.

To try to get an image of what this knife could do, I poked around YT and found there is a "water bottle test" that is popular for testing Ka-bars.

So here's a video of USMC Ka-Bar 7" blade knife cutting through 10+ filled plastic water bottles that are lined up--with one swing of the arm.
So in other words, not the kind of knife a college/sorority girl is likely to have lying around...

Nothing was due on this date. So I'm wondering if this may be for the proposed Frank's Hearing? Any other ideas of what this is for?

I am talking only about the knife. The car, sadly...LE's own consultant put the year wrong, ending by 2014, so BK's car is out of their own margin. (I understand that the car is driving, at night. But ask my kid about any airplane up in the sky, and you'll not get such mistakes. Or maybe it was not a mistake.) Specialists are usually connoisseurs, they'd change travel paths to visit abandoned car museums, they live by their knowledge of cars. I think that car perhaps was of a different year and not BK's. Elantra part is not convincing, tbh. Either LE has to admit, "our specialists are not specialists", or stick with their original definition, 2012-2014, then it is not BK. I bet if one checks the cars of people living around, there'd be some white Elantras, so that's not a proof.

To me, the question stays with this sheath. Maybe they have information they haven't yet disclosed.
The car was identified early on from grainy footage and updated as the investigation progressed and further surveillance was acquired IMO. It may also have been part of a LE tactic not to definitively identify the exact year model in order not to spook the suspect enough to leave the area or try and ditch the car.

Identification of the car model year as the investigation continued is not unusual nor does it negate the expert. We just don't know all of the facts yet.

Charles Conklin, the owner of Big Brown Fish and Pay Lakes in Effort, Pennsylvania, told People that Kohberger, 28, worked for him over a period of about four months as a seasonal employee in 2011

In an appearance on NewsNation's CUOMO, Conklin said Kohberger probably only worked the job a total of 20 days.

"As far as fileting fish, he never got proficient at it," he said.

"We bring kids in and train them and until they're good enough, we don't allow them to do customers' fish. So he probably only practiced fileting maybe eight to 10 days out of those 20 days."
