4 Year “Escape from Reality” Cruise

The average apartment rental in the area where I live is over $2,000 per month. I own my home but could rent it out for four years if I was going to go on the cruise. Like I said, if only I could take my dog with me :)

From the above linked article

Packages range from US$40,000, but it costs US$255,999 for one person to have their own room for four years and US$159,999 per person for a double occupancy room for four years.
Rent near me is more than my mortgage and more than $2000/month plus all utilities and food and everything else, when you add in food, car, gas, insurance, utilities, and other monthly expenses… etc it’s not that crazy expensive…

But hadn’t thought about pets … and I’d want a month off here and there to connect with friends and family- and do a bit of shopping- and then to be able to pop back on…

Assuming I had the extra money to not also be having to work while floating- I’d want to be able to explore hobbies, education and creative pursuits

Personally, that sounds like torture to me, stuck on a boat with people. Stuck in a small room. Pass. Don't people remember Covid-19? And the pandemic issues on boats?!

I seriously have an issue with the smell of meat cooking, I am imagining smelling that all day long, and not being able to get away from it. And I hate the smell of alcohol. And lots of people.

Hard pass. I can get away from everything already, I live in Montana. A few miles down the road is YNP. Lots of fresh air, no cell service, few people.

You live in a very beautiful place :)

Whenever I’ve cruised, I’ve always tried to find the least populated places onboard to find quiet space and watch the endless ocean…or stay close to my balcony … not fond of crowds myself…

Lucky you living in Montana! I have always wanted to visit Missoula after I read a magazine article about it many years ago. There is an NGO there I would love to volunteer for at some point, when I get a summer free that I do not need to work for a living.

I am teetotal and I do not eat meat, so I definitely understand what you mean. But I love lots of people, so that would balance everything out for me.
