Hundreds of letters, packages sent to buildings that no longer exist

Associated Press

NEW YORK - It’s the kind of holiday mail that might have been tossed aside, discarded like any other piece of junk mail: a special offer for a facial at a local spa.

Only the address on the letter no longer exists. And the woman the letter is addressed to died more than five years ago in the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center.

The completion of the article is here: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/16022631/

I read this article with my jaw to the floor. I don't know why, but it has a very strange effect on me. It is almost a creepy feeling.

That is so sad.

You would think they (the companies) would update their bulk mail lists after 5 years. If the mail is returned to them; up- date the list. If it's forwarded on to the families or picked up, I'm sure they hate getting junk mail to their deceased loved one.

It is creepy.
