When the time came for Jinnie Williams to be granted a special wish, she elected to do something for a child battling illness.

Williams, a resident at Laurel Lake Retirement Community in Hudson, decided to use her turn in Laurel Lake's Second Wind Dreams program to make it possible for Karrie Dodez of Orrville to have a 4th birthday party that was fit for a princess.

The child is in treatment for neuroblastoma, and the lady in the retirement community donated her wish toward making a fabulous birthday party for her.

There is nothing more precious than unselfish acts of kindness.
What a special lady.

Thanks for the smile, mysteriew! What a generous gift to a very sick child. From your link:

Unfortunately, Williams, who granted the wish, was out of town and missed the festivities and meeting Karrie. Williams, who is battling Parkinson's disease, hand-paints greeting cards she calls The Shaky Lady.

But thanks to the Second Wind Dreams committee and activities director Mary Ford, the party went off without a hitch.

Pretty-in-pink Karrie -- daughter of Mark and Amy Dodez -- received the royal treatment.

Second Wind -- recognized nationally for the diversity of wishes granted to residents -- made arrangements for Karrie and six of her friends to have special-occasion dresses, glass (actually, plastic) slippers, tiaras, matching jewelry, makeup applications and peanut-butter-and-jelly sandwiches shaped like flowers and butterflies.

I found the story by accident and it was so touching I had to share.
Williams had her own problems with the Parkinson's and age related. But when she got a wish, she gave it to a chld instead of using it for herself. Truly inspirational.
