Awww, that is cute. I dont really know who this is. I have seen the show once or twice but it is a bit before my time I think. Sorry to hear of her passing.

How sad!

Did anyone else see her Broadway comeback in 1971's Follies? She was magnificent! Apparently she had trained to be an opera singer.

The song "I'm Still Here" (sung by various older ladies now, including Shirley MacLaine in Postcards from the Edge) was written for DeCarlo and is said to contain details of her life. These lines:

First you're another
Sloe-eyed vamp,
Then someone's mother,
Then you're camp!
Then you career from career to career.
I'm still here!

Clearly refer to her hit with The Munsters. (And were the first time I learned "career" could be a verb. Thank you, Stephen Sondheim.)

One other thing: the stage manager of Follies later told me that from time to time wiseguys from Long Island would show up at the stage door and ask for Miss DeCarlo. She would go with them to entertain at private parties.

DeCarlo told the stage manager she was still paying off a debt from early in her movie career.

(He did not say and I am not suggesting she was involved in anything illegal. Just responding to those offers "you cannot refuse," as they say in The Godfather.)

WOW was she beautiful.. women of that era had such a glamourous look to them.

A million years ago when I was a very little girl she was filming in a small Louisiana town where I lived. The film was called " A Band Of Angels" and I got to see her. Clark Gable was in it too but I never saw him. She was gorgeous and I always followed her career after.

RIP. Beautiful Yvonne and sing with the angels.

Oh no!! How old was Lily? Oh, I see that she was 84 years old. Rest in peace. I wonder how Hermann will survive. He was so dependent on Lily. Of course, I loved Hermann Munster as the southern judge in My Cousin, Vinny. :)

I can't believe that so many of these people are so old when I remember watching them when they were young.

(looks for smilie in nursing home)

Yes. And particularly because I'm still 28.

Sadly Herman is also gone on. The only two left are Marilyn and Eddie.
