There are a number of cases of women vanished from the streets of Adelaide in the 80's and 90's. And there is a man currently imprisoned (never to be released) who I believe is a good suspect for at least some of these cold cases. His name is MARK ERRIN RUST and he is imprisoned for the murders of MEGUMI SUZUKI and MAYA JAKIC (an excellent podcast and summary of the case HERE)

Here's a few cold cases that I think could be connected.

CHRISTINE REDFORD
Born 1950 Last seen at her Kensington Gardens, SA unit on Tuesday 23 June 1998.
Description : Caucasian, 157 cm tall, average build, fair complexion, with short brown hair.
Circumstances:
Christine Redford was last seen at her home address - a unit at Kensington Gardens, SA on 30 June 1998. Enquiries reveal that she left her handbag, which contained her purse, and other personal belongings at her unit. Her keys are missing. There are no clues to her disappearance and no apparent motivation for her to leave and start another life.

STELLA FARRUGIA
SA Police have shed new light on the 1984 disappearance of outgoing teenager Stella Farrugia, saying she may have been murdered, as they offer a $200,000 reward for information.

After vanishing from her home in Adelaide's west 35 years ago, her family received irregular phone calls in which the caller never spoke.

It was initially believed the 18-year-old had "simply taken off", spurred on by the fact she had written to her sister suggesting she would cut off all ties, but SA Police now fear she may have been murdered.

RENATA WOLANIN
During the early hours of 2 August 1989, Renata Wolanin, aged 41 years, walked out of her home at Linden Park after a domestic dispute with her husband. She has not been seen since.

She left her house wearing a night dress, dressing gown and was barefoot. Wolanin was last seen walking south along Verdale Avenue towards Glen Osmond.

When her husband awoke later the same morning he noticed that Wolanin was not in the house, he left for work and she still had not arrived home.

Her husband thought she may have left early and he did not hear her return home.

Mrs Wolanin was reported missing at the Norwood Police Station at about 3.50 p.m. the same day.

Police suspect she has been murdered.

GAIL KING

Gail King Disappeared on July 7, 1997, presumed murdered.

The Brahma Lodge mother, 28, was last seen leaving her holiday home at Minlaton, on Yorke Peninsula, SA. Police have searched a location on southern Yorke Peninsula for her remains after receiving information from the public, but no arrest has been made.

Gail King was residing with her defacto husband and two children aged 5 and 3 respectively, at Mortess Street, Brahma Lodge, SA.

Over the weekend of 5/6/7 July, 1997, the family attended their Minlaton holiday house on the Yorke Peninsula. Gail arrived on Sunday, 6 July, 1997.

At about 6.00pm on Monday, 7 July 1997, Gail King left the house in her Toyota Corolla Hatch vehicle to return to Adelaide due to other commitments. (This is the last positive sighting of King). King’s defacto returned to their Brahma Lodge home at around 6.00pm on Tuesday, 8 July, to find King’s vehicle parked in the driveway and lights to the house on. The house was in a secured state, with no signs of a disturbance. King was reported missing to police the following day, Wednesday, 9 July, 1997.
