This is sad all the way around. To his family he's a "good guy" a "happy person", and he must be loved and missed. But LE can't help but to know his history and even though that shouldn't have anything to do with the search for him it could be perceived as impacting the scope and the efforts.
What we do know is he is
likely no longer sober, having a current case on the books related to alcohol (minor, non criminal open container but a sign that he is likely drinking again)..

His criminal history goes back 20+ years but most of it is prior to a period of no charges, which leads me to believe that during sobriety, he didn't incur any further criminal charges. IMO, what's in the historical criminal records is likely related to an ongoing problem with alcoholism. There are a dozen separate charges of assault, including sexual assault (not forcible rape but unwanted sexual touching), as well as domestic violance, interference with domestic violence reporting, criminal mischief, reckless endangermenet, trespass, criminal trespass, indecent exposure, two charges of escape, resisting arrest. and violation of conditions of release.
Hopefully, he seeks help if he can, and lets his famiy know he's out there.
