Found Deceased AK - Joseph Ekamrak, 35, Akiachak, 19 July 2019

35-year-old Joseph Ekamrak was last seen by his brother in Akiachak with Marie Peter of Bethel, the afternoon of July 19.

Joseph is 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs roughly 150 pounds. He was last seen wearing jeans and a grey hooded sweater with a white stripe on the front. His boat is in Akiak and he left behind his cell phone.

A ground search has been conducted in the village, and that another one is planned for July 24. The village will search the river on July 25.

On 7/23/2019 at 1457 hours, Alaska State Troopers received a report of an missing person, Joseph Ekamrak, age 35, of Akiachak, who was last seen in Akiachak walking away from his house intoxicated on 7/18/2019. Joseph was last seen wearing a grey-hooded sweater with a white stripe, and jeans. Joseph has short hair, no facial hair, and no tattoos. He is listed as a missing person. If you see Joseph, please immediately call the Alaska State Troopers at 907-543-2294.

I had to read the article 3 times to make sure I read it correctly. The two town names were very similar to me, as I am not familiar with many towns in Alaska: "Alakanuk" and "Akiachak." The 19-year old was found deceased, and Joseph has not been found.
