Poor kid, she's just a baby!

I wonder what state the skull was in, whether it's intact enough for a recon.

I think Yolanda Naomi Nowpakahok could be a possible match:

I would like to know what opinion you have on this.
Age, race, estimated date of death, all good. I have no idea of the geography or sea currents, but that little girl was lost at sea, and if it's remotely possible she could wash up where our Doe's skull did, it's worth pursuing.

If this person was male, then Yolanda's (twin?) brother, Leonard Nowpakahok (#MP66509) would fit. He disappeared along with Yolanda and their father, Leonard, while hunting whales "5-7 miles offshore west of Gambell." Google Maps shows a distance of about 235ish miles between there and where the cranium was found southwest of Shishmaref.

Joseph Ferrenlee Tomaganuk (#MP66582) or Daylon Tall (#MP66779) may also fit--both guys are a little outside the estimated age range, but not impossibly so, at 15 and 16 years old respectively. They disappeared on September 9, 2005 from the seas outside of Hooper Bay. That's a couple hundred miles south of Shishmaref.

I liked Yolanda as a possibility when we thought this Doe was female, and I like Leonard knowing now that he is male. And I think Joseph and Daylon are close enough in age to be good possibilities. The fact that all of them were lost in the water makes them great candidates for this Doe.

I don't know current patterns in that part of Alaska but I wonder if this could be Harry George Sheldon
The question mark I have with Harry, is his presumed date of death is much, much earlier. If the skull was in the water that long, getting knocked around and abraded by sand and chewed on by critters, would it still look recent enough to be thought a probable 2006 date of decease?

Removed by me didnt read it properly
