Police say they have located the vehicle in this case but are still searching for Damon Ward and his 3-year-old daughter, Sophia Sakar. The Alaska DOT released the notice as an Amber Alert, saying Sakar is an Alaska Native girl who is 3 feet tall and 30 pounds, wearing a black coat, purple shirt, blue pants with pink animal print and pink boots. Damon Ward is described as a black male, black hair, brown eyes, 5-foot 10 inches, 160 pounds with very short hair and a goatee. They were last seen on E. Bluff Dr. in Government Hill.

Anchorage Police Wednesday night were asking for the public’s help in locating 44-year-old Damon Demond Ward, who police say has a felony warrant for escape.

In a press release, APD wrote "Just before 6:00 pm this evening, Ward illegally took his 3-year-old daughter, Sophia Sakar, from her foster home. Officers have been unable to locate them."

Ward is 5’10” tall, 160 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. He is driving a 2004 tan Honda Civic with the Alaska license plate JDJ905.
