Circumstances of Disappearance
Victor (Jay) Burgess was last seen on 05/06/1978 and is presumed to have drowned while boating from Hydaburg to Craig, AK. He went missing with Verne Edenshaw Jr (MP #66955), Glenn Cook (MP #66786), Delbert Kelley (MP #66740), and William Hamilton Jr (MP #67265).

Wow, that's sad. My ferry went past Prince of Wales Island in May of 1978 but I went on to Haines AK. This is a pic of Hydaburg

That is where they started their trip, and this is Craig, where they should have ended the trip.

It's 41 miles between the towns over land, but they were in a boat and it's much longer.
