Honestly, if someone is reared by parents who make poor choices, they often are ill-equipped to make good ones themselves when they become parents. Add in substance abuse, poverty, unresolved trauma that leads to attachment issues....recipe for disaster.

Looking at the arrest report you shared, there is one unfortunate individual who probably isn’t connected at all, and hope his name is a simple typo. You never know, though. Those that can access it can see what I mean.

All in all, this beautiful 11 year old had to come across the path of a child killer. Let it be a lesson if you have to choose where your child lives, let it be with you, even if it means changing schools. No judgement, at all, but something to be learned.

I agree, unfortunately. It is not victim blaming to point out trends and facts. My parents met over homicides, their careers, one a detective, the other a homocide reporter....unfortunately a lot of sexual predators do take extra notice, or are aroused by, young girls in precocious outfits or makeup. Not the victims' fault in the slightest. But is it a fact, yes it is.

It is a difficult subject and I do agree. I say let children be children, don't push them to grow up, not the media, not the peer pressure, no one. And I do not want to go sideways on here, but yes make-up, adult type clothing, etc., I do not doubt it will attract that type of creep. I will say they likely would be attracted anyhow though.

I do not want to go OT and get in trouble but the electronics our kids are on provided by schools, etc., the very people who create them and work in the industry do not let their kids near them while ours are provided them at school and have them pushed at them in every way. There is something inherently wrong with things when a children's app defaults to public settings.

Regardless, to tie this back to the case, she was still eleven. And he had to have known that. No matter what she looked like. There is a line there, a filter he does not have. ELEVEN. Makeup or not. He clearly had an adult female in his life... And children...

I am disgusted at what is pushed at our children when it comes to being adult too soon. Do not get me wrong. It doesn't excuse him. And I am not even sure it played in.

The only person at fault here is him.

I would bet if one asked your parents if one takes away the makeup, etc. would this still occur, they would say yes. I agree it probably does not help and can call more attention but there is still something very wrong in the person who could do that to begin with and they still would.

I am not talking about LE in general, just this department and how they handled the situation because I live in this city. He could have said a little more, you have no idea the family members I have lost because due to poor investigations. I might add, I deserve the right to criticize an organization I was once apart of and went to war for everyone’s right to criticize. Wrong is wrong!

Heck idk, they found AB body by 6:30 am the next morning and by 8:30 pm CM was siting in a jail cell. I have definitely seen a lot worse investigations. Just moo

Regardless of makeup & clothing , regardless of social media accounts --- this child was off limits.

We all played dress up at that age and had we social media, smart phones & tablets & iPads--- most of us would have plastered ourselves all over it for the whole world to see .

Monsters roam all around our children . We can't tell which is which. How can we expect our children to know?

I'm all about internet safety and dressing our children modestly . I'm all about knowing who the sexual predators are in my neighborhood . I'm all about changes being made in how laws seem to protect the monsters who prey on children instead of our children.

God have mercy on this sweet girl and those who knew & loved her. God have mercy on LE and all involved in finding and recovering this sweet girls body. And God have mercy on whoever has to come into contact with this for the rest of his ( hopegully very short) life.

I think everyone here respects these particular investigators and LE, in general. At least from what I've seen and experienced on WS.

They can always add more charges. Perhaps, there was evidence of a sexual assault, and LE has sent specimens for DNA testing.

Yes, that could certainly be it -- they have to have proof to be able to charge him with rape, and also need it to hold up at trial and/or sentencing.
