June 2024
'Aniah Blanchard, 19, was widely known for always putting other people before herself, but she also had a deep-seated fear of being kidnapped and harmed.'

''Angela Harris: I had Aniah on my birthday, June 22nd. … That was just gonna be … something so special in life for she and I to share … the same birthday.

Her laugh, infectious.  Her spirit, irrepressible. Aniah Blanchard was just 19 when she vanished – her vibrant presence replaced by the terrifying silence of her absence.''

oh geez.............

Jan. 30, 2025
AUBURN, Ala. (WRBL) — The trial of Ibraheem Yazeed, the man accused of kidnapping and murdering 19-year-old Aniah Blanchard, has been delayed once again, pushing the proceedings to the fall 2025 trial term. After more than five years, Blanchard’s loved ones are still waiting for justice as the legal process drags on.

Yazeed was scheduled to appear in court on Thursday, January 30, 2025, for a status hearing ahead of his trial, which was originally set for spring 2025. However, the hearing was canceled.

On January 27, Macon County Circuit Judge William Whorton issued a court order confirming the postponement and canceling the January 30 status hearing. Instead, a new status conference has been scheduled for September 30, 2025. The court noted the case is “not ready for trial this term.” There is also a possibility the trial could be delayed into 2026.
[.....]
Yazeed remains in custody without bond, facing capital murder charges. The Alabama Attorney General’s Office is prosecuting the case in Macon County and is seeking the death penalty.
[.....]
Meanwhile, Yazeed is set to stand trial in a separate attempted murder and kidnapping case—the one for which he was out on bond when authorities say he kidnapped and killed Blanchard. A Montgomery County judge has scheduled that trial to begin on April 7, 2025 at the Montgomery County Courthouse, with a pre-trial status hearing set for April 1.

after reading this - in the article above

- I believe I have the wrong case for that. I believe it should be this one:

*AL – Yazeed was out on bond on charges of attempted murder & 2 counts of 1st degree kidnapping, 2 counts of 1st degree robbery & possession of marijuana in connection with a January 2019 crime. According to court records, two male victims – one of them 77-years-old - were held against their will in a hotel room (SureStay Motel) in January 2019 on the 1200 block of Eastern Blvd. The older man was beaten until “unconscious, unresponsive, severely injured and near death” & robbed of a Rolex, rifle, handguns, wallet, bank card, clothing & unknown amount of currency. The other man was also beaten & robbed of at least $40. Bond was $295K has been revoked (12/5/19). Montgomery County

Where he WAS out on bond.... I am guessing they changed the case #s for these. So going with this case.

Feb. 4, 2025
MACON COUNTY, Ala. (WTVM) - The trial for the alleged killer of Aniah Blanchard has been delayed for a third time.

This is a case that has touched the lives of so many all over the Chattahoochee Valley.
[.....]
We spoke with Aniah’s family about how they are feeling about having to wait again for this case to go to trial.

Aniah’s mother, Angela Harris, expressed that when they initially learned about the delay, they felt a surge of anger as the proposed date kept approaching, only to be postponed by another seven months. Despite this, she mentioned they are placing their trust in God’s timing and are dedicated to helping others through their foundation, Aniah’s Heart.
[.....]
After more than five years, the trial date for Ibraheem Yazeed was just two months away, but it has now been postponed by another seven months. Harris said they were ready only for justice to be put on hold again.

so 7 months brings us to September. So the date I have 9/30/25. I shall keep looking though for hearings between now & then.

12/4/24 Update; The Alabama Attorney General’s Office has requested a status hearing for 1/30/25, at the Macon County Courthouse, where a trial date is likely to be set.
1/30/25 Update: The trial of Yazeed has been delayed once again, pushing the proceedings to the fall 2025 trial term. On January 27, Macon County Circuit Judge William Whorton issued a court order confirming the postponement & canceling the January 30 status hearing.
