I hadn't heard about this case when it originally happened in January of this year. Based on comments I've seen & the lovely service held last month, they seem like very well-respected, fun, very loved individuals.

Etowah County man charged with capital murder in deaths of father- and mother-in-law

Christopher Scott Johnson, 38, is charged in the shooting deaths of Michael McKenzie, 72, and Darla McKenzie, 68, both of Roswell, Georgia.

Sheriff Jonathon Horton said Johnson had lived at the Coats Bend Circle residence with his wife, the McKenzies’ daughter, for several years. He said the McKenzies were visiting from Georgia at the time of the shooting.

Son-in-law charged with capital murder in Alabama shooting deaths of Georgia couple

Christoper Scott Johnson, 38, is charged in the deaths of Darla McKenzie, 68, and Michael McKenzie, 72. The couple lived in Roswell, Georgia.
