Found Safe AL - James Whitaker, 66, left on motorcycle, Florence, Lauderdale County, 23 Jul 2019

FLORENCE, Ala. – Police are looking for a man who was last seen two weeks ago.

James Whitaker, 66, hasn’t been seen since July 23, when he left his home, according to the Florence Police Department. Whitaker was riding his 2015 Harley-Davidson Softail motorcycle.

Whitaker is 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs approximately 220 pounds.

Anyone who has seen him is asked to contact Florence police at 256-760-6610 or text “FPDTIP” plus your tip to 274637.

The Sturgis Motorcycle Rally began on Aug 2. Probably a long-shot but I wonder if that's a possibility. I'd like to know what, if anything, he took with him. Cell phone? Have they pinged it? Yes, lots of questions...! MOO

Unidentified body with a Harley Davidson found in Texas:

Sgt. Dan Buesing said the man was driving a Harley Davidson when he went off the highway between two bridges and crashed down below. Buesing said they are unknown what caused the wreck.

Buesing said the man’s body had been there for some time and it is badly decomposed.

• Officials believe the man may have been traveling.
• DPS troopers are coordinating with law enforcement in Nevada and Florida to identify the remains and track down the man’s family members.
