BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBMA) — A missing persons investigation is underway after the disappearance of a Birmingham woman.

The Birmingham Police Department said 44-year-old Melissa Foltz's last known location was the 1600 Block of 50th Street Ensley.

Police said Foltz has not been seen or heard from recently.

Foltz is described as white, 5'5" in height and weighs around 125 pounds. She has blonde/red hair and blue eyes.

There is not alot of new information on this case. There was an FB post on Feb 21 of this year from a cousin that she is still missing and Birmingham police are still actively working the case It is amazing that some cases get 100 pages of threads and others die on the vine with lack of info and interest.

There are some concerning comments regarding that part of town in her missing page on FB, none verifiable. When it says "last known location" does that mean she was living there? Just seen there? And if seen, what day as there is no specific "missing" date?

She doesn't appear to have a FB page, at least not as her current name (some people use just a part of a name or prior last name on FB). Alabama doesn't have any search engine for court records that doesn't require a payment so no luck there. Where she used to live in Michigan shr had just some small fines for parking meter (overtime) violations - that was it - at least for the Court for Royal Oak (Oakland county has about 7 or so different courts and I just searched the one.) IMO unfortunately based on the above, this case speaks drugs and potentially homelessness.

I hope she is safe, 2 years is a long time without any news to loved ones. Very sad.

I found the reference posted by @TruthFinder above to the arrest in Oakland County. Didn't see it yesterday as it wasn't actually tried in the court for Royal Oak, where at that time I knew she had been living, but was in the 2nd District Court - Division 4 - Troy. (Oakland County has a DOZEN district courts). In other Oakland courts I found more parking infractions - honestly I've never seen one person with this many 'overtime" and "parking prohibited" parking infractions none in the same place in the county in a row, moving around but incurringly frequently across multiple courts. Could she have been living out of her car at one point?

Two separate arrests (diff. dates) tried at the same time, one small fine (total bond paid/refunded $17,500).
