  • Distinguishing Characteristics Caucasian male. Gray hair, gray eyes. King has a tattoo on his right forearm. He wears eyeglasses, but he left them behind. He may go by his middle name, Lewis.

Details of Disappearance​

King was last seen in Centre, Alabama on December 1, 2013. He was driving a blue 2001 Dodge Dakota pickup truck with the Alabama handicapped license plate number F75D and an eagle sticker on the back windshield. The vehicle has never been recovered. He has never been heard from again.

King is originally from Texas and still has family there; he would drive there to visit them occasionally. His route would have taken him along Interstate 59 to Birmingham, Alabama, then on Interstate 20 to Texas. Few details are available in King's case.

Circumstances Notes
Mr. King has family in Texas and has been known to drive there from time to time. his direction of travel would have possibly been I59 to Birmingham then I20 to Taxes. Both Mr. Kink and his Vehicle are missing.

Human remains were recovered Friday morning from Weiss Lake at Chesnut Bay in Cherokee County.

The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office said a fisherman reported seeing what he thought was a vehicle. Law enforcement then began looking for a vehicle.

The sheriff's office said human remains were found inside a truck which was registered to Oscar Lewis King.

King was reported missing in 2013.

CHEROKEE COUNTY–Human remains recovered from a truck submerged in Weiss Lake last Friday have been identified as a man who went missing in 2013, according to the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office.

Cherokee County Coroner Paul McDonald, in conjunction with the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences, confirmed the man’s identity as Oscar Lewis King, who was 72 when he went missing over 10 years ago.

According to the sheriff’s office, it appears King accidentally drove into the water off of a boat ramp located at the Chesnut Bay Resort near Leesburg.
