This vehicle located in a creek on Murphy Hill Road this morning has prompted a search for a 57 yof. She was last seen wearing red polka dot pajama btms and house coat with a tank top last night at 930. If you have seen a person fitting that description in the HG/Toney area today. Contact dispatch at 2567227181. MCSO and MadCo Rescue Squad continues to search the area.

Pamela Pittner has been located deceased about 2 miles downstream from where her vehicle was located yesterday. Initially she is believed to have drowned and it’s anticipated her remains will be transferred to DFS for an autopsy by the MadCo Coroner.

I wonder how she drowned? The water level looks like it is below the windows.

Maybe the current was really strong and she couldn't make it to "shore."

Or maybe the water level was higher when she found herself in trouble.

And why was she wearing pajamas and a house coat?
Was she found wearing those clothes, or was that what she was wearing the last time someone saw her? Tragic story- this makes 2 drowings in the water in less than a weeks time. So heart breaking, may she rest in peace.

True.

I do wonder how she ended up there. From Google, it looks like you have to drive across the field to get there.

I live in the Toney area outside of city limits about 10 minutes from where her car was found. The evening/night prior to her car being found it rained heavily the entire day & night, the water level was much higher and the current was strong. There was also a lot of flooding in the area. This area of Toney, AL where her car was found has a lot of drainage ditches and not a lot of street lamps. The way the roads are here you can easily drive off the road at night and not be detected, which is why I limit my night driving here to just coming from work. By Grace of God her car was discovered the next morning because the owner of the house on the property noticed her car once the water subsided.
