Tuskegee University homecoming shooting captured in chilling videos: ‘Y’all just stay down’

A barrage of gunfire on the campus of Tuskegee University early Sunday morning after the historically Black university’s 100th homecoming was captured on chilling videos.

Macon County Coroner Hal Bentley said as of 9 a.m. just one person had died. That person has not yet been identified, but university officials said the victim was not affiliated with the school.

Several other people, including Tuskegee students, were injured and are receiving treatment at East Alabama Medical Center and Baptist South Hospital. The severity of their injuries was not immediately known.

I read on one of the media reports that the shooter had turned a semi into a fully automatic weapon. Also, the shooter was not connected to the university. Has anyone else read that in the news? I don't know how correct it is.

4 indicted in November Tuskegee University mass shooting

Four suspects are indicted for their alleged roles in a November mass shooting on the campus of Tuskegee University, Macon County District Attorney Mike Segrest confirmed Wednesday.

Those indicted include Jaquez Ke’Von Myrick, 25, Jaylen Se’Quan Lassic, 21, Romero Frazier II, 20, La’Darius Ja’Quan Gantt, 21, all of Montgomery. Each is facing one count of discharging a firearm on school property.

The mass shooting, which happened during Tuskegee’s homecoming weekend festivities, left one man dead, identified as 18-year-old La’Tavion Johnson, of Troy. At least 16 others were injured.

Will one of the indicted eventually be charged with murder?
