Appeal for information about British sailor who disappeared in January - YBW

"Alastair Cruickshank, born in Stockport, was reported missing to FalmoutCoastguard on 9 January when relatives hadn’t
heard from him and was overdue from a solo sailing voyage.
The 28-year-old, who had previously been living in London, was last seen sailing in convoy from Sada, Spain, on 29 October and is believed to have been heading for Grand Cayman where his uncle lives, but never arrived.
Mr Cruickshank is described as an inexperienced yachtsman, having only sailed his Golden Hind 31
Golden Dawn of Kent twice previously, after purchasing her in August 2013."
“He said he’d be in touch when he next reached dry land, but the family didn’t know how long this was likely to be.
“When he hadn’t contacted the family within a couple of weeks, it was thought he’d decided to go across the Atlantic before getting in touch again.
“We have had several leads to follow up on in respect of alleged sightings after he went missing and are currently actively pursuing these.”
Latest information has placed Mr Cruickshank in Essaouira, Morocco, where the harbourmaster believes he saw him sometime in January."
Anyone with information on Mr Cruickshank’s
whereabouts is being urged to contact
