FORT SMITH, Ark. (AP) — A convicted rapist was sentenced to 60 years in prison Wednesday after admitting he killed a 16-year-old girl he met online whose body was found stuffed into a blue plastic barrel in western Arkansas.

Lloyd Jones, 36, pleaded guilty Wednesday to first-degree murder in Angela Allen's death. Had he been convicted at trial, Jones could have been sentenced to life in prison.

"He will not be eligible for parole until he's 96 years old so we look at this as a life sentence," prosecutor Alison Houston said..................

Court records filed in 2001 show a jury found Jones guilty of rape after a prosecutor said he held a box cutter to a woman's throat, duct-taped her mouth and sexually assaulted her. A judge sentenced him to 10 years in prison. He was paroled in 2008 and discharged in 2010, according to a prison spokeswoman.

Arkansas officials say a man who admitted killing a teenager and then stuffing her body in a barrel buried on his brother's property has escaped from prison.

Prisons spokesman Solomon Graves said 40-year-old Lloyd Jones of Lavaca has been missing since midday Monday. Graves said Jones was on a work crew at the maximum-security East Arkansas Unit near Brickeys.

I posted this earlier to the thread for the girl that he murdered, but figured it might get seen more here. He's proven that he is extremely dangerous and until he is caught, people need to be aware.

Jones was convicted of first degree murder and abuse of a corpse in the 2012 death of 16-year-old Angela Allen of Van Buren. He was also convicted of rape in a 2001 case.

He is described as a white male, 6 feet tall and 175 pounds. He has numerous tattoos, including a dragon, a woman, a wizard, and a castle on his back; dragons on his chest; and flames, a skull, a cross, a snake, and a tribal tattoo on his upper left arm.

UPDATE (6/14): The search for escaped murderer Lloyd Jones continues Tuesday. The Arkansas Department of Correction released more recent photos of Jones Tuesday afternoon.

The updated pictures show Jones with hair on his head and a full beard.

Police have captured an escaped murderer who took off from a work detail in Lee County.

Lloyd Jones was taken into custody Thursday afternoon around 3 p.m., according to the Arkansas Department of Corrections.

Jones was reportedly spotted by a helicopter three miles from the prison in Brickeys, Arkansas.
