SPRINGDALE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — Springdale police are looking for a woman who has been missing from her home on Carly Road since the morning of October 20.

According to a post made on the Springdale Police Department’s Facebook page, Ava Moore, 82, has gray hair and blue eyes. She is 5 ft. 1 in. tall and weighs 112 lbs.

Police say Moore’s vehicle, a 2011 Gray Toyota Camry, was also not at her house. Moore’s Arkansas license plate reads VL173YCB.

According to police, Moore is said to be of sound mind and health. Her family says it is strange for her to leave without notifying someone.

Police say Moore has been missing from her residence on Carly Road in Springdale and her vehicle, a 2011 gray Toyota Camery, was not located at her home.

Police say Moore is of sound health and mind. According to the family, it is peculiar for Moore to leave without notifying someone.

MISSING PERSON UPDATE!!!

On Sunday, October 24, 2021 at approximately 2:00pm a detective with the Springdale Police Department received a call that Ava Moore's purse and contents had been located in rural Kansas Oklahoma by a citizen. Her vehicle was located a short distance away unoccupied.

On Monday, October 25, 2021 at approximately 11:00 am while searching the area around Moore's car, detectives with the Springdale Police Department as well as Agents with OSBI and Deputy's with the Delaware County Sheriff's office in Oklahoma located a deceased female a short distance from Moore's vehicle. OSBI will be taking over the investigation and the body of the deceased female will be sent to the Oklahoma State Medical Examiner's office for positive identification and manner and cause of death.

This investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information about this case is asked to please call the OSBI N.E. Division at 918-456-0653 or the Springdale Police Department at 479-751-4542.

A woman's burned body was found near a burned car and a purse belonging to a missing Springdale woman, Lt. Jeff Taylor announced Monday.

The body was sent to the Oklahoma State Medical Examiner's office for identification and to learn the manner of death.

According to her family, Moore is diabetic and has not been taking her insulin. Because of this, they say she was not in the correct state of mind.
