Locating Missing Child

On May 31, 2018, The Lonoke County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a missing 1 year old child. On May 1st 2018, The Circuit Court of Lonoke County Domestic Relations Division filed an Order granting custody of the 1 year old child to the biological father. The father has been unable to locate the Mother. Efforts by the Lonoke County Sheriff’s Office to locate the mother have been unsuccessful so far. The Lonoke County Sheriff’s Office has entered the child into the National Criminal Information Center (NCIC) as missing at this time. The Lonoke County Sheriff’s office is asking the public’s help on locating both Heather Tarter and the child. There are no criminal charges at this time however, anyone found to be assisting with hiding this child could face criminal charges.

The child’s name is Indiana Tarter a 1 year old white female approximately 2 ft tall and weighs 20 pounds, Heather Tarter is a 42 year old white female. Tarter has been known to frequent and has family in the Carlisle area. Tarter may be driving a 2007 white Chevrolet Trail Blazer with an Arkansas license plate 111SPS. Authorities said Tuesday night that a central Arkansas woman who went missing with her 1-year-old daughter last week had been found.

The Lonoke County sheriff's office said Heather Tarter, 42, and her daughter Indiana were found more than 1,100 miles away in Navajo County, Arizona. They two were reported missing Thursday.

A Jacksonville, Ark. grandmother is facing charges after she tried to hire a hit man to kill her daughter's ex-husband.

She said that she and her daughter had previously been arrested in Arizona for allegedly kidnapping Tarter's granddaughter. They were held in Arizona for approximately 36 days on a warrant from Lonoke County where Tarter's ex-son-in-law and family reportedly live.
